Sweating is your body’s mechanism to cool down. So we use a deodorant or an antiperspirant in our daily routine to try and keep sweat and odors under control.
Although most of us might not be aware of how harmful the products that we use for that purpose can be for our health.
In the pretty adverts we see on TV they don’t also warn us about the bad side of using these products and how they can really harm our body.
Well, if they would do that what kind of good marketing would that be, right? 🙂
So it’s up to each and every one of us to care for our own health by looking into the full information about the products that we use.
If in case you never thought about it, it might be a surprise to learn that the antiperspirant you use daily is in fact clogging, closing, or blocking the pores with aluminum salts in order to prevent the release of sweat.
This is effectively changing the function of your body.
Aluminum-based products are suspected to favor the appearance of breast cancer and the ones that come in spray cans can generate asthma crises.
The aluminum in the antiperspirant products effectively prevents the removal of toxins from the armpit region, and thus they are stored in the lymph nodes in the area.
In time, the large amount of toxins can cause anomalies in the structure of the DNA cells of the breast tissue. This is why the aluminum-based antiperspirants are frequently blamed on for the appearance of breast cancer.
I will introduce you to a healthy and completely safe bio version of Healthy Homemade DIY deodorant that really works.
This homemade deodorant is highly effective and it will absorb the moisture and cover the odors while also keeping you safe from any nasty infections or disease.
Also, you won’t have to worry about any stains on your clothes. Even if you wear white clothes or colors.
I am using this deodorant every day and I am very happy with the results. Keeps my armpits skin area dry and odor free all day long!
It really works and it is also great to know that I am not exposing my health to any risks from that point of view.
Here are the ingredients that work perfect together to create a healthy bio version for a deodorant.
Cornflour absorbs moisture very well, while the sodium bicarbonate covers odors.
Coconut oil is very famous for its qualities but did you know that is also anti-fungal and anti-microbial?

Steps

I always like to prepare the ingredients before I start the process of creating a mask.
In this particular recipe it is very easy to just scoop 2 tablespoons of each sodium bicarbonate and cornmeal out of their package. However, we also have to use some coconut oil.
If you regularly use coconut oil in your face or hair masks or even for cooking, you will then know that it doesn’t come in a liquid state but it looks more like a paste.
For this recipe we need to use coconut oil, although it has to be liquefied first.
I liquefied the coconut oil, by using another bowl in which I placed 2 tablespoons of coconut oil from my big jar of coconut oil and warmed it in the microwave for exactly 25 seconds.
In this way, I just warmed up the amount I needed, without liquefying all the coconut oil I had in the big jar.
Now to prepare our lovely homemade deodorant
- In a bowl or a small jar (whatever its best for you) put the sodium bicarbonate and the cornflour.
- Add the liquefied coconut oil and mix with a wooden spatula/spoon until smooth.
If you think your mixture is too powdery, you can add a bit more liquefied coconut oil. If you want the paste to be a bit more solid add a bit more cornflour.
Beware: don’t add more sodium bicarbonate as in larger quantities it may cause skin irritation.
If you prefer a homemade deodorant without any fragrance, then consider your job to be done. You will be able to enjoy a great healthy homemade deodorant that is very safe for your skin.
However you can still go the distance and add some lovely scents, according to your preferences.
You can find in beauty stores a wide range of cosmetic essential oils.
Although be really careful in choosing cosmetic essential oils.
Add 10 drops of your chosen essential oil into the mixture of homemade deodorant.
You can also combine two essential oils by respecting the 10 drops amount for each one of them.
Mix everything well and apply it to your previously cleaned armpits.
You can try storing it in a small container and place it in a cool place.
I keep my homemade deodorant in a small container that I kept after finishing my moisturizer.
